As a club our mission is:

To further the advancement of all breeds of purebred dogs.
To protect and advance the interests of purebred dogs and encourage sportsmanlike competition at shows and trials.
To conduct sanctioned matches, dog shows, obedience trials and other AKC authorized events.
To promote and enhance the perception of purebred dogs and their owners through community service and education.

Gavilan Kennel Club coordinates a number of purebred dog related activities throughout the year, including:

• Our AKC Sanctioned All Breed Conformation Show and Obedience Trial in October.
• Obedience and Conformation Training throughout the year.
• Clinics, Seminars and Workshops throughout the year.
• Programs (short presentations of various topics of interest to club members) following most regular meetings.
• Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner in June.
• Holiday Party in December or January.
